The function and mechanism of post-translational modifications (PTMs) on protein and macromolecular is the frontier and hotspot in the field of life sciences. PTMs play an important role in the regulation of protein structure, activity and function. Our group focuses on role of lysine acetylation on histone and non-histone proteins. We plan to identify the acetylated sites in various plant species, and analyze the dynamic regulatory mechanism. Based on these studies, our long-term goal is to develop site-specific post-translational modification systems which could be efficiently used in crop improvement.
